Executive Summary

Chicago Neighborhood Soccer is developing a comprehensive partnership framework designed to facilitate sustainable youth programming through collaborative community development. This document will serve as a foundational resource for schools, community organizations, and institutional partners interested in co-developing soccer-based youth development initiatives.

Our approach emphasizes community ownership, institutional sustainability, and measurable outcomes that extend beyond athletic development to encompass academic achievement, leadership development, and neighborhood engagement.

Current Partnership Model

Our existing programming demonstrates the effectiveness of school-community partnerships through our work with Chicago Public Schools and local organizations:

REC 77 School Partnership Initiative

  • Current Status: Active partnerships with 2 CPS schools
  • Program Structure: After-school soccer programming integrated with academic support
  • Community Impact: Serving underserved students on Chicago's South and West sides
  • Institutional Support: Featured programming through YMCA of Metro Chicago

Community Building & Volunteering Pipeline

Our community soccer programs include specific pathways for leadership development. We've grown from Friday programming to events 6-7 days per week with developed leaders, creating opportunities for participants to transition from players to volunteer coordinators and program leaders.
